Got a drone? Got a camera? Why not take to the skies to give this aerial panorama competition a go?
A 360 panorama is a creative way to allow a viewer of an image to immerse themselves into the viewpoint of the photographer. The recent inception of drones into popular photography and videography has further expanded the possibilities for those who shoot 360 panoramas to get creative.
Recognising this, DJI and their global aerial photography community SkyPixel have embarked on a search for the best aerial 360 panoramas around in a new competition.
Open to anyone around the world, the competition has already started gathering entries, which is not too surprising when you look at the prizes on offer.
The aerial photographer who nets the Grand Prize will receive a brand new DJI Phantom 4 and a Huawei P9 Plus smartphone. Not bad at all!
Other prizes on offer include DJI Credits valued at $500, $300 and $100, as well as other smartphones and wearable devices. There’s also a mystery prize that has only so far been described as ‘brilliant’, so your guess there is as good as ours.
You may have only used your drone for videography thus far, but making a 360 panorama is a process that’s simpler than it sounds, and if you fancy a new DJI Phantom 4 (of course you do) it could be well worth a punt. SkyPixel has helpfully put together a few tips on how to get started making 360 aerial panoramas; click here to read the tips from Rendy Cipta Muliawan.

Submissions end on June 20, 2016 at 12 midday, so it’s time to get to work! The winners will be announced on June 30. For all info and to enter, click here.
