A new backpack for quadcopter enthusiasts from the well-regarded manufacturers of photo and video bags

The new DroneGuard Backpack 450 AW joins Lowepro’s DroneGuard series of backpacks designed for the quadcopter enthusiast.

Designed specifically to carry the most popular quadcopters on the market, the bag’s internal dividers can be adjusted and customised to fit a DJI Phantom, 3DR Solo or other drone of similar size and dimensions, with additional space for batteries, props, transmitter, cables and other paraphernalia.

The pack also includes a dedicated pocket to fit a 10-inch tablet, as well as a moulded top pocket for small accessories like headphones or sunglasses. Capacity can be further expanded by making use of Lowepro’s SlipLock attachment loops, by which the user can add extra pouches and cases.

Built for the outdoors, the bag uses Lowwpro’s ActivZone harness, specially modified to spread weight over the shoulder blades, lumbar spine and waist in a comfortable fashion. It also comes with a built-in All-Weather AW Cover to protect it from the weather.

There’s been plenty of exciting drone news recently – earlier this week we saw the announcement of the DJI Phantom 4 – head here to see more about the drone as well as a few sample videos.

And if you fancy getting into the drone racket yourself, you might be wondering what your first flight might look like. Here’s what happened when our editor Richard Sibley took to the skies for the first time.
