New carbon fibre camera support and head aimed at DSLR filmmakers

Kenro has revealed two new pieces of kit – the KENVT102C video tripod kit and the KENGHC1 gimbal tripod head – that are firmly aimed at filmmakers who are shooting video with either DSLR cameras or camcorders.

The ‘standard’ carbon fibre video tripod has a working height range up to 1700mm, down to 250mm for low level shooting, with a maximum load capacity of 6kgs. It will come with the smooth action VH01B ball base fluid pan head with a built-in spirit level and quick release plate.

For fast set-ups the tripod’s legs have large flip lock levers and they all feature foam-lined handgrips for easy carrying. The tripod kit comes with a carry case that has a shoulder strap for easy portability and is covered under Kenro’s standard six-year limited guarantee.

Shooting with long lenses
The carbon fibre gimbal tripod head is designed for use when shooting with DSLRs, especially if you’re using long and large telephoto lenses. It features an elevated tilt mechanism and height adjustable platform that will allow users to align the tilt axis of the head with the centre of gravity of the camera and lens combo that’s in use.

The head’s 360 degree panning base and swinging arm come with separate locks, thus making the gimbal head potentially very useful for panning shots of rapidly moving sports action or wildlife subjects. The head can take a maximum load of up to 15kgs, weighs 1.3kgs, has a 3/8” tripod bush and a 150mm quick release Arca Swiss style camera plate.
