Filming 360 degree video has become just that bit easier with Insta360's latest release

Virtual Reality and 360 degree video are fast becoming essential tools for filmmakers – and as a result there are plenty of new tools available.

American company Insta360 has released the first footage of its new camera, ahead of its launch in September 2017.

The Insta360 One is a small, weather-proof hand-held camera that records 4K 360° video. Built on a 6-axis stabilisation, the camera also allows smooth video footage making it a good addition if you’re looking to film more extreme sports like kayaking or skydiving.

It works on its own or attached to an iPhone and allows the user to livestream footage on Facebook, YouTube and Periscope.

The new camera also comes with some clever tricks and apps to help filmmakers get the perfect shot. For instance, it allows users to shoot birds-eye shots without the need of a drone with automatic selfie stick erasing technology.

The kit is sure to help the filmmakers explore a new video format at a (slightly) more affordable price.

The new camera is set to be released in the UK next month and available to pre-order here for £319.49.
