German cinematographer Fabian Wagner has worked on TV masterpieces like Sherlock and Game of Thrones. His Instagram feed is full of behind the scenes images and beautiful shots, which make it easy to see how he has landed two Creative Arts Emmy Award nominations in his career so far.

Greig Fraser – @greigfraser_dp

Greig Fraser has worked on Bright Star, Zero Dark Thirty and even earned an Academy Award nomination for his work on Lion in 2017. The Australian director of photographer posts shots from films he works on alongside giving every day sightings the cinematographic treatment.

Rachel Morrison – @rmorrison

Director of photography Rachel Morrison has worked across Hollywood films like Cake and Fruitvale Station alongside working on TV show The Hills for a while. Her feed is full of striking images that will no doubt inspire you to pick up your camera.

Emmanuel Lubezki – @chivexp

Emmanuel Lubezki does not just have an Oscar to his name as he’s also been widely given the title of world’s coolest Instagram feed. He is one of the reasons we made this list because the director of photography for Gravity, The Revenant and Birdman has a feed full of filmmaking inspiration.

Another filmmaker to follow on Instagram is Mexican cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto who is best known for his work on The Wolf of Wall Street, Argo and Brokeback Mountain. He is now set to make his directorial debut with a new revenge thriller.

Cinematographer and director Reed Morano has been the director of photography for Sundance Film Festival movies like Kill Your Darlings and the Skeleton Twins. Her artsy Instagram is a great source of filmmaking inspiration as well as envy with some powerful shots.
