Judging panel
A shortlist of 12 films was voted on by the panel of expert judges from the worlds of TV, filmmaking and food with their combined scores determining the winning films. The judging panel comprised James Winter (freelance TV producer and former Executive Editor of BBC Saturday Kitchen Live), George Motz (filmmaker, DoP, writer, TV host and hamburger expert), Nik Powell (Director of National Film & Television School and co-founder of Virgin Records) and Simon Day (Founder of unearthed®, sponsor of the ‘Food in Film’ category).

Simon Day explained: “The competition was intensely fierce. There were entries from across the world and the standard was phenomenal. This film about a game of snooker played with food, stood out from the rest, however, for its highly characterful wit and originality.”

Barbara Zonzin from the Netherlands won the ‘People’s Choice’ vote for her film ‘All Natural’, which was also Highly Commended in the main ‘Food in Film’ category. The other top two shorts in the top three Highly Commended films of the main category were ‘Sacred Gin’ by William Shaw (UK) and ‘A Pizza My Heart’ by Francis Longhurst (UK).
